Welcome to BSA Troop 381's Website

We are excited about the opportunities that Boy Scouts has provided for our sons.  Scouting can provide a structured environment to teach young men the skills that will help them mature into adulthood.  Our goal is to uphold the principles of leadership, achievement, and service in a creative, fun, and active atmosphere.  While our adult leaders are there to guide and encourage them, our scouts are expected to plan activities, lead, support, and learn from one another.  Troop 381 is involved in service projects that benefit our community. We have been involved with such organizations as Goodwill/Goodturn, Hope Hospice, Texas Adopt a highway / trash pickup, Bike MS, Food Bank, Wounded Warriors, Relay for Life,  building tables and planter boxes for schools.   We are commited to providing our Troop with campouts every month.  In addition, we are working to raise funds so that the troop can travel out of state for their week long summer camp broadening their experience and appreciation of the outdoors.  If you are interested in learning more about our troop, send us an email by using the "Contact Us" option on the left side of this page.

This is a Hiking camp out. We will plan to do about 5 miles at minimum Our campsite will be near where we will park the cars.  Walk in campsites with a picnic table. Each camper will be responsible for their meals, camping gear, and cooking gear.   If you need to use any of the Troop's Equipment, please get with one of the Adult Leaders to check the equipment out.  Bring bug spray, sun screen, plenty of water, food, and weather appropriate clothes!   This is a great opportunity to practice packing a Backpack and living out of one bag for the whole weekend.

Great Dec Camp out

Posted on Dec 14 2025 - 3:01pm

We started Saturday trying to do Wreaths Across America but had to pivot to a cemetery clean up instead.  We then meet at the hut that afternoon for the Annual Hobo Camp Out.  Big thanks for Mr. Laxon for doing the Nitrogen Ice Cream, Jim for installing new outdoor lights, and Cris for making sure all the structures were up to code.
