Welcome to BSA Troop 381's Website

We are excited about the opportunities that Boy Scouts has provided for our sons.  Scouting can provide a structured environment to teach young men the skills that will help them mature into adulthood.  Our goal is to uphold the principles of leadership, achievement, and service in a creative, fun, and active atmosphere.  While our adult leaders are there to guide and encourage them, our scouts are expected to plan activities, lead, support, and learn from one another.  Troop 381 is involved in service projects that benefit our community. We have been involved with such organizations as Goodwill/Goodturn, Hope Hospice, Texas Adopt a highway / trash pickup, Bike MS, Food Bank, Wounded Warriors, Relay for Life,  building tables and planter boxes for schools.   We are commited to providing our Troop with campouts every month.  In addition, we are working to raise funds so that the troop can travel out of state for their week long summer camp broadening their experience and appreciation of the outdoors.  If you are interested in learning more about our troop, send us an email by using the "Contact Us" option on the left side of this page.

Tonight is the last night for Rank Advancement and Merit Badges before Court of Honor (COH).  Due to scheduling conflict we will be moving the COH and Troop Elections to 4/28.  We will continue to work on the Electricity MB tonight.  On 4/14 we will finish Electricity or start Golf MB depending on how much we get done tonight.  There is no meeting on 4/21 because of Easter Break.

We are going to Mustang Island this weekend.  We will meet at 6:00 at the Scout Hut.  Please be on time we have a long drive.  We will not stop for dinner so please eat before you come or bring something to eat on the road.   We are camping on the beach so lots of Sun Screen.  BSA rules require shoes to be worn at all times even when swimming.  Please bring water shoes.  Remember to bring $10 for Scouts and $20 for adults for food.

Meeting tonight and Fundraiser idea

Posted on Mar 31 2025 - 10:20am

We will have a meeting tonight. We will continue to work on our Electricity MB.  I have also linked a letter we use in our Neighborhood for Fund raising.  This was started by another Family in a different Troop and when their boys aged out we took it over.  We put out American flags next to the the mail boxes in our neighborhood.  We do about 70 homes.  Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4, Labor Day & 9/11.  You can pick others, but we try to keep it simple.  Last year I think we raised about $200 by putting this letter in all the mailboxes on Memorial Day.  There is an up front cost of buying the flags, but after the 1st year it is all paid for.  Happy to discuss more if anyone is interested.

Congratulations to Jack Watson our Newest Eagle
